Bontang City

Bontang city stated in the East Kalimantan. It’s about 124 km in southern Samarinda. In the north and west side put out a Kutai Timur, and the east has direct limited with Makassar Strait. Bontang has interesting tourism spot and plenty of natural resources.

Bontang Kuala

One of the largest natural resources in Bontang is sea. It contains many kind of fish and fill sea ecosystem around Bontang. If we want to see mangrove and their habitat just go to Bontang Kuala. Over there we can enjoy the beautiful view of Bontang coast. You may enjoy the sunset in the afternoon and try some famous food from bontang like amplang, dry thin fish, or the other traditional food. In Bontang Kuala usually celebrate society party, where people gather and shows traditional dance. This party celebrates every year, sometimes people bring their food from their house to this party for eat together or exchange their food with the other.

Beras Basah

The other interesting tourism spot in Bontang is Beras Basah Island. This island can be reach by boat about a half hour in the east. Over there only stayed by flora and fauna. This island famous with its undersea views and white sand. Every day many tourism visit this island, they do many activity like snorkeling, diving or only playing in the white sand.

Furthermore, Bontang is plenty of natural resources; it is the reason of government to consider Bontang became the industrial LNG management by PT. BADAK NGL and fertilizer industrial by PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur. PT. BADAK NGL is a big company in Bontang. They are managing of natural gasses in Bontang. This company helps the government especially in Bontang to develop Bontang City. They also built some facilities like school from play group until college, religious place, airport and other facilities.

The other company is PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur that produce fertilizer like Ammonia, NPK, and Urea. Besides, this company also produces the other industries material like Melamine, Ammonium Bicarbonate, and Methanol. Same as PT. BADAK, PT. Pupuk also help the Bontang government to make society in Bontang prosperous.

Even Bontang has two big industrial Companies, but Bontang still care with their nature and keep the forest and also became a garden city. After all of information above, I hope Bontang became our appropriate to visited in our holiday. Thank you. (by.hafni)
